Rules
Fair Play
Roleplay generally has a few universal rules that need to be abided by. It all has to do with fair play standards and avoiding things which would make roleplay miserable, especially in combat scenarios.
No Godmodding
Godmodding is an umbrella term for anything which removes autonomy from another player and removes control from them. If you dictate the actions of their character or dictate their response to an action you made against them, that is god-modding. Godmodding also covers power-gaming which is when you auto hit or auto kill someone or don’t react or allow other actions by other characters to affect your character in any discernible way while ignoring direct actions against your character. Powergaming is simply against the rules. All characters should have a weakness that can be exploited. Even Superman is weak against Kryptonite and Magic.
No Metagaming
Metagaming is when you use information that is from an out of character sources, such as a profile, or another thread that your character didn’t participate in, in an in character interaction. If there’s no reasonable way for your character to have gotten this information, then it’s metagaming. Exceptions can be made between players for off screen intel collection but generally speaking, it is frowned upon. Don’t make a habit of it.
In character and Out of Character distinctions
Or IC =/= OOC, which means in character interactions, good or bad, should not reflect the feelings of the player behind the character. Likewise, a player should not use their feeling towards another player to start OOC drama in the game. It has happened, and nobody likes it. If you have a dispute with another player, try to sort it out in a civil manner, and if you can’t please contact a mod.
Stay in Character
It shouldn’t have to be said, but there is a reason why we have applications. Being OOC can take people out of the immersion of roleplay so please make sure to maintain the same quality of characterization and even as your character changes throughout his or her experience, that the changes are rooted in canonical reasoning.
General rules
Three strikes
This game has three strikes and you’re out rule. If you continuously break the rules, you will get a strike. Consistent disregard for the rules will result in being removed from the game.
Respect your Fellow player
Do try to communicate as respectfully as possible. If a player doesn’t want to do something then respect their decision not to do so. Generally just don’t be a jerk to each other, don’t get angry when things don’t go your way and try to compromise and be flexible for things that you and other players can’t control.
Adult Content Policy
Smut or 18+ content should be under a cut and warned against in a thread’s warning section. It is preferred to link to a thread in a musebox instead of playing out the sexual encounter in the game community for the comfort of the other players. Also, warn against graphic violence.
Content Warnings
All threads should be adequately described in the Who, what, where, when, why, etc. section. Make sure you warn about graphic content or sex. As above we prefer a fade to black or link to another journal/musebox.
Power balance
Bare in mind that while this is a superhero game, there is no reason why your character should be all powerful. There should be a measure of power balance which means, even if you app Vegeta, his planet busting powers won’t be able to destroy the earth, even if he wanted to. You should also be mindful of other characters and how they’ll interact with your character. If your character is a god like entity, it will be nerfed so other characters can have a fighting chance.
Character limit.
The number of characters you’re allowed to have is six and you can only app two characters from a single series who cannot be closely associated with each other. Characters like Pokemon or Toothless the dragon are considered NPCs and are allowed to be included with their owners.
Please stay active.
Players are encouraged to create their own plots and story arcs outside of the mod plots. There will be a monthly one thread check in. If you don’t check in on any particular month then we will require you to post two threads for the next check in. If you fail to check in for two months in a row you will be removed from the game.
